community. Our community, however, must have the transportation infrastructure in
place to support our aggressive growth plans.
Recently, St. Jude Medical has begun an 80,000 square foot expansion on a 30 -acre site
near Rice Street and County Road B. This expansion will be used for office, laboratory
and manufacturing space, and will eventually become headquarters for St. Jude Medical's
Cardiac Surgery Division, Approximately 100 employees will relocate from our
corporate headquarters over the course of the multi - phased expansion in order to help
accommodate the Company's projected growth rate and hiring plans.
We sincerely appreciate any attention that you or your staff can give to our concerns and
we strongly urge the Department of Transportation and Metro Transit to move the budge
replacement project higher in the schedule of road improvement funding before any extra
traffic is added to the problem.
Thank you for your consideration. Representatives from St. Jude Medical would be
happy to sit down with your staff to further discuss these concerns further if that would
be helpful.
Kind regards,
Angela Craig
Vice President, Corporate Relations
St. Jude Medical
Enclosure: Fact Sheet
CC:
Bev Scalze, State Representative, Little Canada
Ward Einess, Deputy Commissioner, Department of Employment and Economic
Development
Jim Kwan, Vice President of Operations, St. Jude Medical
Joel Hanson, City Administrator, Little Canada
Tom Sexton, CRESA Partners
Bob McFarland, MnDOT
David Gaither, Chief of Staff
Global Leadership in Medical Technology
ATRIAL FIBRILLATION CARDIAC RHYTHM MANAGEMENT CARDIAC SURGERY CARDIOLOGY
