Hanson As you know, the City has been renting out the basement of the Old Fire Hall for a number of years to residents of the City. There have been very limited upgrades to this space over the past several years, and the facility is in need of a few improvements. Staff has reviewed the space and has concluded that the cabinets, counter top, and sink need replacement as does the flooring in the kitchen and serving area. Additionally, it is felt new appliances are needed. Based on this conclusion, the following pricing has been obtained: Cabinets and Countertop: Schreier Cabinets $5,730 plus tear -out of existing cabinets Cabinets by Greg $4,300 includes tear -out Tile Floor (includes tear -out) Abbe Floor $2,348 Floors by Becker $2,575 Appliance Replacement $2,000 estimate One six - burner stove (replacing two four - burner stoves) Refrigerator Minor sheetrock repair and painting — to be done by prison crew Paint and Supplies $500 estimate New sink and faucet $1,200 estimate Based upon the above pricing and estimates, it would be staff's recommendation that the 2006 Capital Improvement Budget be amended to include the above upgrades at the Old Fire Hall ($10,575 estimate). The current budget amount is $2,500. It is hoped that this work can be completed over the course of the summer. Every attempt will be made to minimize the impact on hall rentals.
