Resolution declared adopted. <br />APPOINTMENT The City Administrator reported that as part of the adoption of the City's <br />OF CITY Financial Policies in 2007, requests for proposals were taken for both <br />ATTORNEY legal and auditing services. With regard to legal services, the City <br />received seven proposals, one of which was from the current City <br />Attorney, Sweeney, Borer, Sweeney. Of the seven proposals received <br />three firms proposed both civil and prosecution services, one firm <br />proposed only civil, and three firms proposed only prosecution. The <br />Administrator noted that the Council interviewed all seven firms, <br />reference checks were done, and afollow-up Council workshop was held <br />to discuss the interviews and references. The City Administrator noted <br />that the current City Attorney is not present this evening since out of the <br />RFP process it was determined that the City Attorney would be routinely <br />present at the second Council meeting per month as well as on an as- <br />neededbasis. The Administrator pointed out that no matter which firm is <br />appointed this evening, the City will be saving money. <br />Blesener reported that at the workshop meeting, there was discussion <br />about the appointment of Kelly & Fawcett for civil and Hughes & Costello <br />for prosecution services. Blesener indicated that upon further <br />consideration, he feels that Kelly & Fawcett should be appointed for both <br />civil and prosecution given the City's reduced costs on the civil side may <br />make it practical from a business standpoint to have both civil and <br />prosecution.
