MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 9, 2008 <br />CITYATTORNEY, AND SUBJECT TO THE CONTINUATION OF <br />SWEENEY, BORER, SWEENEY'S HANDLING OF THE VADNAIS <br />HEIGHTS LITIGATION PROVIDED THAT REASONABLE FEES <br />CAN BE WORKED OUT WITH SBS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />GOALS The Council discussed the goal setting process that has been utilized over <br />REVIEW the past several years, and suggested that since there are currently several <br />open issues being worked on, process be modified somewhat for 2008. It <br />was felt that the 2007 Goals List should be reviewed and prioritized at a <br />goals workshop, with any additional items added if warranted. <br />The City Administrator indicated that he would contact Mark Nagel to <br />discuss the revised format and determine his availability. The <br />Administrator will report to the Council at the January 30th meeting. <br />INFORMATION Keis stated that he would like the information update workshop held prior <br />UPDATE to holding the goals workshop. <br />WORKSHOP <br />Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO.2008-1-8 - CALLING AN INFORMATION <br />UPDATE WORKSHOP FOR WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2008, <br />AT 5:30 P.M. AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LAND The City Administrator reviewed his report dated January 4, 2008 <br />DEDICATION- explalning that Ed Dropps, the original developer of the Heather Oaks <br />HEATHER Townhome project on Viking Drive would like to gift the three outlots <br />OAKS to the City and take a charitable donation for this dedication. The <br />Administrator noted that originally Mr. Dropps was interested in <br />purchasing some excess highway department right-of--way and combining <br />it with two of the outlots in order to develop additional townhomes. <br />However, based on an appraisal of the excess right-of--way property, as <br />well as issues with the Heather Oaks Townhome Association, Mr. Dropps <br />does not feel the project would be feasible. <br />7 <br />
