City of Little Canada, MN 4 <br />coating integrity. KLM will inspect the roof, roof structure, all appurtenances such as <br />vents, manways, and ladders, the tank shell, and the bowl. KLM will be responsible to <br />provide a safety ladder and a lifeline in the roof manway, for the interior inspector, at all <br />times. The inlet pipe or wet riser is excluded from the inspection, unless otherwise <br />written into this agreement. <br />The inspection and inspection reports will be performed in accordance with AWWA M <br />42 Inspecting and Repairing Steel Water Tanks, Standpipes, Reservoirs, and Elevated <br />Tanks for Water Storage, American Concrete Institute (ACI) 201.1R -95 Guide for <br />Making a Condition Survey of Concrete in Service and this proposal. <br />KLM Engineering, Inc can also perform the following types of inspection. They are <br />included as part of this proposal. <br />ROV Seamor Inspection <br />KLM plans to utilize a two -man crew and a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) to perform <br />the inspection. This inspection is used primarily when performing warranty and 5 year <br />anniversary inspections. KLM plans to inspect the elevated water tower with the float on <br />the upper portion (if necessary) and ROV all areas below the surface. <br />KLM will provide NACE Certified Coatings Inspectors, with one or both of these <br />individuals being an AWS welding inspector, whom are properly trained and qualified to <br />perform this type of inspection. KLM proposes to utilize a remote operated vehicle for <br />the inspection of the water tower. This will enable each tank to be inspected in one day. <br />In order to perform a ROV inspection, the city would be required to have the water at or <br />near the high water level (HWL) at the start of the inspection. KLM inspectors will insert <br />and inflate a sterilized rubber rail into the tank interior, for the interior inspection of the <br />roof, roof structure, and all appurtenances such as vents, manways, and ladders. <br />Videotaping will be performed with an underwater camera, which will show the coating <br />deficiencies. The camera will be disinfected in accordance with AWWA. KLM will be <br />responsible to provide a safety ladder and a lifeline in the roof manway, for the interior <br />inspector, at all times. The inlet pipe or wet riser is excluded from the inspection, unless <br />otherwise written into this agreement <br />The inspection will be performed in accordance with AWWA M 42 D101 -53 (R1986) <br />Standard for Inspecting and Repairing Steel Water Tanks, Standpipes, Reservoirs, and <br />Elevated Tanks, for Water Storage and this proposal. <br />6 <br />
