515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600 (651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048 www.littlecanadamn.org MAYOR Tom Fischer COUNCIL Dave Miller Amanda Gutierrez Angie Malone Chris Kwapick Proclamation Firefighter Appreciation Month in the City of Little Canada WHEREAS, Fire Prevention Month is recognized each year in October to raise fire safety awareness, to education families, students, and communities across the United States; and WHEREAS, we remember past firefighters who have lost their lives while serving their communities, to express gratitude to those that have served in this line of work, and to show support and appreciation for those who currently serve, in particular those members of the Little Canada Fire Department; and WHEREAS, at a moment’s notice, firefighters are quick to respond to uncertain situations to mitigate danger and combat the threat of destructive fire in order to protect the community; and WHEREAS, the demands of firefighting are accompanied by both personal and physical tolls that all firefighters knowingly accept while risking their lives to protect the lives of others; and WHEREAS, the Little Canada community expresses gratitude to our 27 active and probationary members on the Little Canada Fire Department, and all Little Canada Fire Department retirees; and WHEREAS, the City of Little Canada encourages all community members to show support and appreciation to our firefighters who protect our lives and property throughout the year, and remember past firefighters who dedicated their lives to preserve our safety; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that I, Tom Fischer, Mayor of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, do hereby proclaim October 2025, as Firefighter Appreciation Month.
