The deliverables and recommendations provided by the TAC can only be effective if they are reflective of the
aspirations and desires of the community. The process was designed to prioritize community voices, ensure
equity in access and input, and foster a shared vision of a community building.
To ensure that the community’s voice was a consistent part of the process, several community engagement
events took place during the TAC’s six-month process. The TAC’s community engagement initiatives were
built on the community engagement efforts from the Parks System and Pioneer Park Master Plan updates.
A key element of the community engagement was transparency and communication. Clear and regular
updates of the feedback received were shared at the beginning of each TAC meeting.
Community Engagement Timeline
1 Community Survey
The 2025 Community Survey included
three questions about the future
community building.
2 Building Survey
This survey asked residents about capacity of a rental
room, what types of private events they would hold,
and what amenities were most important to them.
3 Special Events
Meeting the community
face-to-face is an important
aspect of project engagement.4 Sticker Boards
Staff provided residents with the opportunity
to share their level of interest in a community
building using in-person sticker boards at
various community events.
5 Online Feedback Form
The Technical Advisory Committee
actively sought feedback from the
community.
Community Engagement
City of Little Canada Technical Advisory Committee Final Report 13
