CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 925 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 918 OF THE ZONING CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />LITTLE CANADA TO CLARIFY SETBACK EXCEPTIONS AND BUILDING MEASUREMENTS <br /> <br />The Little Canada City Council, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 918.040 of the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance is repealed in its entirety. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Section 918.040 of the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance is adopted to read as follows: <br />918.040 Encroachments Allowed into Required Setback Areas <br />The following shall be considered as permitted encroachments on setback requirements except as provided in <br />this chapter. <br />A. Architectural Projections <br />Cornices, eaves, gutters, chimneys, flues, sills, pilasters, lintels, bay windows without foundations, <br />projecting building signs, and other similar architectural features may project up to two (2) feet into a <br />required setback, provided that such projections are at least three (3) feet from any lot line and do not <br />obstruct visibility in clear vision areas regulated by Section 915.030. <br />B. At-Grade Features <br />Steps, ramps for accessibility, sidewalks, flag poles, mailboxes, posts, fences, and similar incidental <br />features may be located within required setbacks, provided they do not obstruct visibility in clear vision <br />areas regulated by Section 915.030. <br />C. Service Stations and Similar Uses <br />Service station pump islands and open canopies associated with vehicle fueling or drive-through facilities <br />may be located within required setbacks, provided they meet at least the minimum driveway setback <br />applicable to the district and do not extend into a public right-of-way or obstruct visibility in clear vision <br />areas regulated by Section 915.030. <br />D. Little Free Libraries <br />Little Free Libraries or similar neighborhood media exchanges may be located within required setbacks <br />consistent with Section 915.020 but shall not be located within a public street right-of-way. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. Section 918.060.E of the Little Canada Zoning Ordinance is amended to read as follows: <br />E. Bulk <br />A. Building Coverage <br />Building coverage is a measure of intensity of a use of land that represents the portion of a site that is <br />covered by building footprint, as well as attached porches, decks, and balconies. Building coverage <br />does not include driveways, streets, sidewalks, and any other areas covered by an impervious surface <br />material, including areas of outdoor storage. <br />B. Building Size <br />Building size is the total floor area located inside exterior walls and covered by a roof. <br />C. Building Footprint
