We have these <br />vehicles on a 7-year replacement cycle in the city's capital improvement fund. Although <br />this vehicle is scheduled for replacement in 2026, we would like to place the order now to <br />ensure its timely delivery. The estimated delivery is May or June of 2026. Payment is not <br />required until the vehicle is delivered. <br />The new vehicle will be clearly marked as a fire department vehicle and will include essential <br />safety equipment, including improved emergency lighting and life-safety equipment. <br /> <br />The vehicle will be purchased from the State of Minnesota contract. <br />Source Of Funds: <br />Funding for the new command vehicle is from the Fire Equipment Capital Fund (457). $80,000 <br />was budgeted for the vehicle and all related equipment and accessories. If needed, we will come <br />back at a later date to get approval for the emergency lighting, equipment, vehicle graphics. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff is recommending to approve the purchase of a new command vehicle up to $58,500.00. <br />The state contract price of the vehicle is $56,219.56, with the additional amount in case minor <br />changes to the vehicle need to be made. <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />• State bid contract
