35 <br /> <br />City of Little Canada Personnel Policy <br /> <br />C. Employees will be compensated by the City to testify in court only on City-related business. <br /> <br />Organ and Bone Marrow Donation <br /> <br />Employees who work an average of 20 or more hours per week are entitled to up to 40 hours of paid <br />leave for the purposes of donating an organ or partial organ to another person or donating bone <br />marrow. The combined length of the leave shall be determined by the employee but may not exceed <br />40 work hours for each donation, unless agreed to by the City. The City may require verification by a <br />physician of the purpose and length of each leave requested by the employee for organ donation. <br /> <br />If there is a medical determination that the employee does not qualify as an organ or bone marrow <br />donor, the paid leave of absence granted to the employee prior to that medical determination is not <br />forfeited. Reasonable notice of leave should be provided. <br /> <br />The City will not discharge, discipline, penalize, interfere with, threaten, restrain, coerce, or otherwise <br />retaliate or discriminate against an employee for asserting rights and remedies provided in this section.
