There are three tiers for award amount, depending on the project: <br />$3,000, $7,500, and $15,000 <br />Housing Opportunity Grants empower REALTOR® Associations to advance affordable housing <br />through improved systems, programs, and policies—positioning REALTORS® as community <br />leaders in expanding housing access. <br />Level 1 Grants <br />Level 1 Housing Opportunity grants support efforts to educate REALTORS® and the public <br />about housing affordability topics. Activities may include a class or forum; a speaker(s) who can <br />address specific affordable housing issues; or a meeting with community stakeholders to develop <br />coalition efforts. Review the Ideas for Using a Housing Opportunity Grant for additional <br />inspiration. <br />Details: <br />Maximum award: $3,000 <br />Associations may receive one Level 1 grant per calendar year <br />Funds are disbursed using a reimbursement process <br />Reimbursement request must be submitted by December 19th, 2025 <br />Grant recipients must complete an evaluation form for the supported activity. <br />National Association of Realtors (NAR) Grant Program Application: <br />As staff would be applying formally for an additional grant, in accordance with policies, staff is <br />requesting the city council's consideration to authorize staff to apply for this additional grant for <br />the Community Connections Engagement Program. <br />Strategic Priority: <br />Creating Supportive Networks <br />o Develop an intentional and authentic outreach plan to historically <br />underrepresented community members <br />Creating Supportive Networks <br />o Develop a program to engage community members using smaller meetings at area <br />businesses for projects <br />Source Of Funds: <br />This program was budgeted and approved as part of the upcoming 2026 Budget. However, costs <br />for various items, including the lecture series and merchandise for the Community Ambassador <br />Program, will fluctuate depending on available funds. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Accept the Grant from the St. Paul Area Association of Relators (SPAAR) Key <br />Communities Grant Program for $1,500.00 <br />Approve authorization for staff to apply for the National Association of Realtors (NAR) <br />Grant Program through the St. Paul Area Association of Realtors (SPAAR)
