Staff Report <br />To:Mayor Fischer and Members of the City Council <br />From:Bryce Shearen, City Administrator <br />Date: February 11, 2026 <br />Re:Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office Update <br />Action To Be Considered: <br />Motion to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />For information and discussion purposes only. Undersheriff Jeff Ramacher and <br />Undersheriff Chief of Staff Kyle Mestad will provide information on several areas of <br />public safety. <br />Background: <br />As part of the draft 2025 Strategic Plan, Creating Supportive Networks, an action item for Year 1 <br />is to “schedule regular workshop meetings between the City Council and Ramsey County <br />Sheriff’s Office.” RCSO is scheduled for two meetings in 2026 as part of this strategic planning <br />action time. RCSO is also aware that the council is requesting this cadence going forward. <br />Staff requested the following topics be reviewed: <br />General updates <br />2025 year in review <br />Staffing and budget overview <br />Flock camera updates <br />Update on metro-area public safety challenges <br />Strategic Priority: <br />Creating Supportive Networks Action Item: Schedule regular workshop meetings <br />between the City Council and the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office <br />Source Of Funds: <br />No budgetary impact at this time. <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />For information and discussion purposes only. <br />Attachments: <br />None
