Program Coordinator
(651) 766-4042
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Biesener & Members of the City Council
FROM: Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director
DATE: January 7, 2005
RE: Proposed Parks & Recreation Program Fees for 2005
Attached is a list of proposed fees for various Parks and Recreation programs and charges for
2005. These fees were based on the analysis of past program revenues and expenses, with the
goal of making most programs self - sustaining from the program fees. I also gave consideration
to fees charged by other parks and recreation departments in our area.
Based on this criteria, I recommend adopting the following fee schedule for 2005. I also would
like to maintain discretion to change any fees during the year as might prove necessary to
achieve the above goal due to more current cost information being available at the time the
program is conducted.
In setting the fees, consideration was also given to the 20% fee subsidy that the LCRA provides.
I made a request for that subsidy at their October meeting and it was approved. Also, the Parks
Sc Recreation Commission recommended approval of these fees at their last regular meeting.
HAM, isPAParks & Recreation AMiscellaneous \FEES.DOC
