515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
www. ci.li Ltle- can ada. inn. us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Members of the Planning Commission
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk
DATE: January 6, 2005
RE: Temporary Sign Ordinance — Multi- Tenant Properties
MAYOR
Michael 1. Palley
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Man: Anderson
Rick Montour
13111 Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
In 2003 the City's Temporary Sign Ordinance was amended addressing temporary signs
allowed for both single - tenant and multi- tenant properties. The issues of number of
temporary signs and total number of days temporary signs can be displayed were
discussed and amended. (See minutes attached.)
In reviewing this section of the Code, staff has noted that the amendment was worded
somewhat unclearly, and is recommending an additional phrase be added to the ordinance
to clarify the intent. (See amendment attached.) The addition of the phrase suggested
would clarify that the 60 day limitation on total days of temporary signage allowed
applies to the tenants of single tenant buildings as well as each tenant of multi- tenant
properties.
Staff recommends adoption of the ordinance amendment as presented.
