MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 11, 2000 PARKING ON NIcMENEMVIY STREET "APPOINTING KATHY GLANZER AS THE CITY'S DATA PRACTICES COMPLIANCE OFFICIAL; APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE NOVEMBER 7, 2000 GENERAL ELECTION AS RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF; 4 UTHORIZING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO SCHEDULE NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS FOR THE 2001 IMPROVEMENTS AS APPROPRIATE; *APPROVING A TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE LCRA HALLOWEEN DANCE AS REOUESTED; *AUTHORIZING NUISANCE ABATMENT FOR 2930 PAYNE AVENUE AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Morelan, Fahey, Pedersen. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Council reviewed the request of St. John's School for removal of no parking signs on McMenemy Street in the area of St. John's School as well as the requests of Bev Collova and Cathy Collova for removal of no parking signs on McMenemy Street near their homes. Fahey pointed out that the school is planning the construction of new facilities, and once those facilities are built their parking problems will be resolved. Fahey suggested that given the large, repetitive use of McMenemy Street by the school and St, John's Church, he felt it appropriate to remove no parking signs in that area until their rebuilding is completed. Fahey felt there were less compelling reasons for removal of no parking signs near private residences on McMenemy Street. Fahey pointed out the parking permit process that the City has put in place to assist homeowners in accommodating on- street parking for guests and parties at their homes. Scalze agreed with Fahey's comments and pointed out that St. John's is taking steps to alleviate their parking situation. Beverly Kysvivczvn, diking Drive property owner, reported that she is rebuilding her home on Viking Drive. She requested an on- street parking permit for construction vehicles and was denied one. Kysvlyczyn reported 6 :age 21
