MIND [ES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 26, 2000
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2000-7-177 — APPRO PING THE DESIGNATION
OF NO PARKING ON ROSEWOOD DRIVE AS RECOMMENDED
BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, LaValle, Fahey.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PARING The Council discussed the issue of prohibiting parking on those streets
ISSUIES — that have on- street paths. The streets specifically at issue are LaBore
ON STREET Road, Arcade Street, McMenemy Road, Viking Drive, and County Road
PATHS B -2. Scalze stated that she thought the Council had already authorized no
parking on Arcade Street and LaBore Road. The City Administrator
divemema
replied that the minutes had been researched and the authorization could
not be found. Therefore, this matter is scheduled for Council discussion
this evening.
It was noted that the City routinely issues parking permits in the event
property owners have the need for on street parking for various functions
and/or celebrations.
Pedersen felt it was appropriate to post LaBore Road as no parking given
the high traffic volumes on that street. However, he questioned the need
to post Arcade Street between County Road D and LaBore Road.
Morelan indicated that he drove these roads this evening, and there were
cars parked in the on- street park on each street. He also noted that there
were walkers out on each of the streets. Morelan felt that it made sense to
post those roads with on- street paths. Fahey agreed it was a public safety
issue and that the streets should be posted.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -7 -178 — AUTHORIZING PUBLIC WORKS
TO POST THOSE STREETS WITH ON- STREET W4L112VG PATHS
AS NO PARKING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE STREET
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Pedersen, Morelan, Fahey.
Nays (0).
