PlanScape Partners
Innovative solutions, lasting relationships.
February 25, 2005
Joel Hanson
Little Canada City Administrator
515 Little Canada Road East
Little Canada MN 55117
Dear Joel:
ECLiAVED
EH 2 8 2005
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
Enclosed are the seminar brochures you requested two weeks ago when we
spoke. I met with you in September 2004 about opportunities to encourage
entrepreneurship in your community. Let me reacquaint you with our firm.
PlanScape Partners works with community leaders, who want to improve their
towns, create wealth for their citizens through entrepreneurship and manage the
town's financial resources. With offices in Iowa and Minnesota, we have been
able to identify opportunities to enhance the vitality of towns of various sizes
through a variety of services for our client communities.
The practice of economic development differs from one town to another but with
more than 20 years of experience in this arena, we have seen trends change and
understand that economic development involves a continuous reinvention
process.
Since Little Canada is primarily a residential community, encouraging
entrepreneurship is a wonderful alternative for you since it requires little in the
way of new infrastructure. A positive correlation exists between areas with high
rates of entrepreneurship and those with strong economic performance and
higher levels of prosperity.
There are ways a community can work to foster an entrepreneurial culture. In
addition to working with municipalities, we also provide services to businesses.
As entrepreneurs ourselves, the partners at PlanScape Partners have insight into
the needs of business start -ups and companies that want to grow. We are
interested in working with communities and regions to help identify cost effective
333 N.
