Pi n of Action <br />Each spring, your Board of Directors dedicates a day w discussing the direction of the Twin Cities North Chamber of <br />Commerce. After reviewing where we have been, priorities are established for the coming year and beyond, all in an <br />effort to better serve our members' needs and interests. Your Chamber is a strong and viable organization. Your Board is <br />committed to furthering the chamber's growth and development, keeping in mind the ever- changing business environment <br />in which we are all operating. Your chamber leadership wants the Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce to continue <br />to be the "Chamber of Choice" for all businesses located in the communities we serve. <br />TWIN CITIES NORTH CIIAMER OF COMMERCE <br />PRIORITIES OF 2004 -2005 <br />Membership Growth and Retention <br />• Actively pursue prospective members in the northern suburbs through volunteer, staff and board recruitment. <br />• Grow our membership by a net of 10 %. <br />• Establish a retention plan in which all members are personally contacted at least twice a year, and increase the <br />participation of the Board of Directors in the retention process. <br />• Re- establish our ties with all members by incorporating focus groups, face -to -face retention calls, and increasing the <br />response rate of our annual survey. <br />• Maintain a retention rate of at least 85 %. <br />Membership Involvement and Benefits <br />• Create a marketing piece to increase the awareness of the values and benefits of chamber membership to existing <br />members as well as prospective members. <br />• Enhance our current new member orientation by adding a quarterly new member social, in which Board members and <br />volunteers will be encouraged to attend. <br />• Establish a member -to- member discount or promotional program. <br />• Design, distribute and promote a yearly sponsorship piece to promote sponsorships on all chamber programs and <br />events. <br />• Enhance our public relations pieces to include benefits of membership along with testimonials from existing <br />members. <br />Business Advocacy <br />• Revitalize the Business Affairs Committee to assist in establishing issues topics, forming additional policy statements <br />and serving as the representatives for the Twin Cities North Chamber regarding public policy issues. <br />• Continue advocating and lobbying on business issues that affect our members. <br />• Enhance the current Issues Forums to include relevant topics for businesses such as increased programming on health <br />care, transportation, education, fiscal awareness, etc. <br />• Add a member - driven committee that focuses on Manufacturers and their business issues. <br />• Publicize and enhance the Business Councils for each of the communities we serve. Focus on engaging the business <br />community in quarterly issues meetings with the individual cities, business members and community activists. <br />Organizational .Structure <br />• Increase overall bottom -line revenue to slowly build a reserve fund. <br />
