MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Rick Montour
Barbara Allan
John Keis
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048 Joel R. Hanson
www.el.little- canada.mn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: May 6, 2005
RE: 2005 Action Plans
Staff is recommending three action items relative to our 2005 Action Plans.
Workshop for Multi - family Licensing:
The first item is to call for a workshop for May 25th to review the Multi- Family Licensing Fee
report. We would recommend the workshop be held at 6:00 p.m.
Upgrade Land Use Plans & Ordinances:
The City Planner has confirmed that the Metropolitan Council will be mandated updates to
community comprehensive plans for 2008. While the specifics of what updates will be
required is unknown at this time, our past experience indicates we should wait on our
comprehensive plan update until the requirements are known. Therefore, I have redrafted the
action plan to focus on the other areas. The redrafted plan is attached and should be discussed
at Wednesday's meeting.
Improving Appearance on Public Property:
Attached is the adopted action plan for the above goal. You will note that the Council was to
discuss desired improvements, other than those listed in the action plan. We are a little
behind in the target dates listed in the plan for items such as LC Road landscaping (see Work
Listing Report attached). While work has started on those items, other projects (willow
control by Aspen Pond & park maintenance at Pioneer & Spooner due to the early warm
weather) leapfrogged that item.
Please let us know if there are other areas we should focus on.
