Their youngest client is 43 years old. <br />Hall asked if there are medical personnel at the center. Gab reported that <br />they have a nurse on staff that comes in each day for a period of time. All <br />staff is CPR certified. <br />Maleitzke asked how long the center has operated in Maplewood. Gay <br />replied that they have been in Maplewood for 5 years and in their St. Paul <br />location for 7 years. Maleitzke asked if the Maplewood location would be <br />closed. Gab replied that it would if approval of this new location is <br />granted. <br />Fischer asked about taking clients to doctors' appointments, noting the <br />potential for vans to run during the day. Gab reported that the center does <br />not transport clients to doctors' appointments, but makes appointments for <br />clients and informs their families of the need to transport them to and from <br />appointments. Clients will generally stay home on the day of <br />appointments. The center will transport clients in emergency situations. <br />Fischer clarified that traffic in and out of the center would occur at 9 a.m. <br />and at 3 p.m. Gab replied that that is correct. There would he virtually no <br />other traffic to the site other than clients who might drive themselves to <br />the center. <br />Knudsen asked if there were any issues with the overnight parking of the <br />vans on the property. The City Planner replied that there were not and the <br />number of vans proposed is well under what would be allowed. <br />The City Planner indicated that give this is a multi- tenant building, a <br />master sign plan is required for the property. He indicated that Temo <br />Sunrooms is going to propose a signage change, and suggested that the <br />signage for the building be coordinated in one application. <br />Hall recommended approval of the Planned Unit Development (PUD) <br />Permit to allow the operation of an adult day -care facility as proposed by <br />Hmong MN Senior Center at 2905 Country Drive subject to compliance <br />with the recommendations of the City Planner as outlined in his report <br />dated April 6, 2012. <br />Motion seconded by Murphy. <br />Motion carried 7 — 0. <br />ADJOURN Duray recommended that the meeting be adjourned. <br />-5- <br />
