Little Canada Fire <br />Department <br />Memo <br />To: Joel Hanson: City Administrator <br />From: Don Smiley: Assistant Fire Chief <br />Date: June 3, 2005 <br />Re: New Fire Truck Proposal <br />Joel, here is a summary of the new truck proposal. <br />Pierce Lance top mount pumper <br />Base price $ 418,928 <br />Fire department recommended safety additions $ 2,766 <br />1. Backup safety camera (includes a video screen, and a rear mounted camera to allow the driver a <br />clear view of what is behind the vehicle before and during any vehicle backing). $ 1,500 <br />2. 2 additional emergency warning lights on the rear of the apparatus. (This includes 2 additional lights <br />and custom fabrication for the installation). $ 1,266 <br />(We are receiving both of the above items at dealer cost) <br />Total price of $ 421,694 <br />The apparatus build time is from 255 to 285 calendar days. <br />As per city recommendation our best option is to pay the contract in full at the time of signing. <br />Finance terms. Pierce will pay interest in the amount of 4.25 % on any prepayments that the City chooses to <br />make. Pierce will pay the interest upon delivery of the completed apparatus. The interest payment will be <br />adjusted to cover any additional days over 255. <br />The Little Canada Fire Department has approved a donation of $100,000 towards this purchase, and the monies <br />would be available on September 6th, 2005. <br />-2 <br />
