"PARTIAL" <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />July 7, 2005 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the th day of July, 2005 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Vice -chair James Broten called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Molly Boss <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Tony Mans <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Boss recommended that the minutes of the meeting held on June 2, 2005 be approved as <br />submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Mans. <br />Motion carried 6— 0. <br />WATERSHED The Director stated that Cliff Aichinger of the Ramsey - Washington Metro Watershed District <br />PARK is asking that the park charge for their new building located on Noel Drive be waived <br />CHARGE due to the fact that the Watershed is a public agency and has provided park improvements and <br />amenities to the city in the past and will continue to do the same in the future. Gray felt that the <br />city has already released part of its park land to the Watershed in order for them to build their <br />offices. He felt that waiving the park charge would be above and beyond what is reasonable. <br />The Director stated that Aichinger has already called him to get his opinion on this issue. The <br />Director told Aichinger that although he appreciates all of the work that the Watershed has done <br />for the city, he would not support waiving the park charge. The city has always been protective <br />of our park dedication fee and tries to collect it whenever we can. He felt that the work they <br />have done for the city in the past is part of their mission and the service they provide. They <br />would probably have done the same for anyone within their watershed that needed the service. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
