MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 25, 1990
RECESS
CONCEPT OF
PRELIMINARY
.PLAT -
COSTA ESTATES
Blesener asked if the driveway could have a
T- configuration rather than allowing two curb cuts.
The City Planner pointed out that there is not adequate
room for a T- driveway.
There was no one from the general public present
wishing to comment on this matter.
Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by LaValle, the public
hearing was closed.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 90 -7 -347 - APPROVING A VARIANCE TO ALLOW
A HORSESHOE DRIVEWAY WITH TWO CURB CUTS AT 626 EAST
COUNTY ROAD B -2 AS REQUESTED BY CHARLES AND MARY ANN
VERMEERSCH SUBJECT TO THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY
PLANNER AS CONTAINED IN HIS REPORT DATED JULY 10, 1990
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Fahey.
Nays (0). .
Resolution declared adopted.
At this point in the meeting, 9:16 P..M., Council ..took .a
short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:26 P.M.
Mr. Bob DeBace appeared before the Commission
requesting concept approval of . a preliminary plat
for Costa Estates.
Scalze asked why the Council would consider the concept
without input from the surrounding property owners.
The City Planner reported that a full public hearing
will be held on the preliminary plat. However, due to
the need for construction of Desoto Street, and the
assessment issues that would be involved, he suggested
that the concept be presented to the Council.
Scalze pointed out that the property is already
platted, and the proposal decreases the size of the
existing lots.
DeBace replied that this is correct. Currently the
property is piatted. in 100 foot wide lots, and the new
proposal calls for lot widths of 34.6 feet by 127 feet
deep. - 3 9 -
Pang 17
