Hanson <br />www.ci.little-eanada.mn.us <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor Blesener & Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />DATE: November 4, 2005 <br />RE: Electrical Permit Fee Increase <br />Our electrical inspector, Peter Tokle of Tokle Inspection, Inc. is requesting permit fee increases <br />to be effective on January 1, 2006. Attached is the existing fee schedule, a proposed schedule <br />that reflects the increased fees, an a revised Exhibit "A" to our contract for electrical inspector <br />services that shows the current fees and the proposed changes in parentheses. It should be noted <br />that the fees generated are split 80% to Tokle Inspection, Inc. and 20% to the City. <br />The fee increases are fairly substantial on a percentage basis (36% increase for a maximum <br />residential fee - $110 to $150, but is important to remember that these fees have not increased <br />since 1996. Mr. Tokle has also informed me that he would not anticipate any additional <br />increases for another five years. He has also informed me that the other contracting jurisdictions <br />will be adopting the proposed increases by the end of the month. <br />Staff would recommend approval of the proposed fee increases as proposed. <br />
