2. How will the municipality assure materials are collected in 2006 from those households that will <br />not receive recycling collection services under a municipally - arranged contract? (e.g., ordinance <br />provisions, licensing requirements, other mechanism) What materials are required to be <br />collected, and at what frequency? City Ordinance #809.050: <br />All our licensed haulers provide recycling to the households in the city. <br />Weekly pickups are also provided for multi -unit buildings. Materials collected <br />include: newspaper, corrugated cardboard, ledger paper, bi -metal cans, aluminum <br />cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, mixed mail and magazines. <br />3. How will the municipality assure that all recyclables collected from residential properties are <br />recycled, whether collected by the municipality's contracted vendor or another service provider? <br />All our haulers provide monthly or quarterly reports of tonnage and by the provision <br />in the city contract with the haulers. <br />4. What changes are planned or anticipated for 2006? <br />We plan to have a bigger response for our clean -up day by providing more publicity. <br />The city is excited about going soon to a one -sort in recycling. <br />5. How are recycling services in 2006 to be paid for, beyond any use of SCORE funds? What long- <br />term funding source is in place for recycling services? <br />The haulers currently invoice our residents on their garbage billings. The <br />haulers provide and promote recycling through fliers and invoice comments. <br />The city provides promotions on recycling in the newsletters and also through <br />our web site, welcome brochures and cable tv channel. <br />6. Describe the municipality's source reduction and recycling promotional efforts. List types of <br />materials to be used, intended audiences, and method and frequency of distribution. <br />The city provides for all businesses and residents a newsletter that is published <br />six times a year. Each newsletter provides pages on information on recycling for <br />our residents. We provide a welcome brochure to all new residents that explains <br />our recyling procedures. We provide information on recycling on our website, <br />cable tv station, city information line and displays in our lobby. <br />7. What measurable goals do you have for source reduction and recycling activities in 2006? At <br />least ONE measurable goal must be listed. Please describe how you will measure progress <br />toward those goals and how activities will be evaluated. <br />We continue to strive for a 5% increse in recyling tonnage. We compile this informatior <br />from the monthly haulers' tonnage reports and track this information for progress. <br />8. if any activities will be conducted by a contractor or subcontractor, what provisions will be made <br />• to monitor and audit those activities? <br />We require our contracted haulers to report their tonnage to our office on a regular <br />basis. We monitor their tonnage through these reports. They also inform our office <br />of any complaints or suggestions. <br />
