tUURIN6. ASSO(IflT -ES
April 20, 2012
File No. 120148E -0071
Honorable Mayor and City Council
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road E.
Little Canada, MN 55117 -1633
TAR NRRMR
RE: COUNTY ROAD B2 LANDSCAPING PROJECT
PARTIAL PAY ESTIMATE #3 & CHANGE ORDER #2
Dear Council Members:
Please find attached 3 copies of Partial Pay Estimate No. 3 for the above - referenced
project. As you are aware, the Contractor for the project is Hoffman & McNamara. The
total amount earned by the Contractor on this partial pay estimate is $161,025.00.
Subtracting 5% retainage of $8051.25 and previous payments of $135,763.55, the
amount due the Contractor is $17,210.20.
This pay estimate includes payment for completing the remaining plantings and mulch
placement on the project. We have inspected the work performed by Hoffman &
McNamara and find it to be in compliance with the plans, specifications, and contract
documents. Therefore we would recommend approval of Partial Pay Estimate No. 3 in
the amount of $17,210.20.
Also attached is Change Order #2 which provides for a metal lockable enclosure for the
irrigation system. The original plans specified a decorative fake rock enclosure. Based
on the site layout the landscaping should effectively screen the enclosure from the street
and sidewalk, especially when the landscaping becomes more mature which would
eliminate the need for a decorative enclosure. The metal enclosure will also be more
vandal resistant and the access hatch will provide easier access for maintenance crews.
Based on these factors we would recommend approval of Change Order #2 in the
amount of $615.00 and changing to the metal enclosure.
If you have any questions regarding this issue please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
ELFERING & ASSOCIATES
Lee Elfering, P.E.
City Engineer
cc: Bill Dircks, Public Works Director
Ltr- 042012 -CC (Payment 63 & CO 62 - Landscaping)
10062 Flanders Court NE, Elaine, MN 55449 - Phone: (763) 780 -0450 - Fax: (763) 780 -0452
1
