Hanson <br />Attached is an e -mail from Katie Lngman asking if we would consider rejoining the North <br />Suburban Tobacco Compliance Project (NSTCP). We dropped out a few years ago as a budget <br />consideration that was also based on the belief that the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department was <br />handling compliance checks regardless of our participation. <br />As you will note, we are the only contract community not participating (White Bear Lake, <br />Roseville, and St. Paul also do not participate). The cost to be a member is $51 per vendor or <br />$612 per year. <br />NSTCP helps find kids to use in the compliance cheeks conducted by the Sheriff's Department. <br />They also provide training to licensees two times per year and will also do on-site if needed. <br />Finally, they prepare reports on compliance results for comparative purposes. <br />The Sheriff's Department feels there is value in their services. For the cost, Undersheriff <br />Altendorfer recommends we participate. <br />I have attached some other information on NSTCP and their reports from 2011. <br />1 <br />
