a week. With this year's projects, we attempted contact with the general and received no
response only to find out the contact was out of the area for the weekend. Still another
change we will make is to require the general contractor to be responsible for a certain
percentage of the overall work scope. It has been our experience that when the general
does the majority of the work, we do not experience the type of problems we encountered
this year. With this year's projects, Tower Asphalt was the general. They are a paving
contractor and did not have equipment on the job until the end. The underground sub
(Northdale) had equipment here, but claimed the work we expected was not part of their
contract with Tower.
• When will this project be finished?
Tower Asphalt will be substantially complete on Wednesday, October 26, 2005. Twin
City Hydro Seeding is currently spreading black dirt. Seeding should be completed by
the 31s`. Rain water garden plantings were completed on October 27`h. The final lift of
asphalt and any other corrective actions will be completed after school is out next year,
but work will occur within a short window.
In closing, we would once again like to apologize for the excessive delays and the frustration you
endured. We appreciate the tremendous patience and understanding you displayed as we worked
through this project. We hope that the information contained in this letter will provide you with
some of the answers to the questions that were on your minds.
Should you have any comments or questions you would like to discuss further, please contact
Joel at (651) 766 -4040.
7-
