50 `i` Northwest Youth
& Family Services
3490 Lexington Avenue North, Suite 205 • Shoreview„ VIN 55/26 • Phone (651) 486 -3808 • Fax (65/) 486 -3858
July 8, 2005
Joel Hanson
City Administrator
City of Little Canada
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Joel:
On behalf of Northwest Youth and Family Services (NYFS) and the Suburban Ramsey Family
Collaborative (SRFC), we would like to request a meeting with the council to discuss the current
services of NYFS, and inform you of the role SRFC has played at NYFS and the Suburban Ramsey
community at large for these past six years.
We would welcome a visit with the council any time between July and September. Our presentation,
which will take approximately 20 minutes, will illustrate the wonderful array of services provided to
children, youth and families who are experiencing at -risk circumstances in our communities, and to
alert council members of changes occurring in the landscape of federal, state and local funding, which
will have significant impact on the services currently provided.
In these hard financial times, it's easy to become hopeless when we look to a future of more funding
cuts and increased fees, which affect our most vulnerable populations. However, it is our hope that by
coming together to continue supporting children, youth and family's health, learning, safety and
security we will be able to overcome even the most challenging of situations.
You can contact me, Kay Andrews, to schedule a time that works best for you. I can be reached at:
(651) 379 -3401, or by email at: kay @nyfs.org.
We look forward to an enlightening discussion that highlights the best of the past and present and
ignites the collective imagination of all so that no child remains at risk in our communities.
Sincerely,
Kay Z.
