6) Cooperative Drainage Improvements — MnDot should incorporate drainage
improvements to their project that will accommodate local drainage generated from
Ramsey County and Little Canada. This has been addressed with previous
correspondence and the only aspect to be finalized is the cost apportionment between the
various agencies (MnDot, Ramsey County, and Little Canada).
7) MnDot Land Acquisition for Ponding - Little Canada should be paid the same land cost
per square foot as MnDot is paying other property owners for ponding areas. Based on
our analysis of cost allocations for cooperative drainage improvements, it appears MnDot
proposes to pay substantially Less for the land needed from the City of Little Canada than
they are proposing to pay other property owners.
8) Little Canada Road Freeway Ramps — Improvements are required to be made to the
north half of freeway ramps at Little Canada Road MnDot shall take every effort
possible to minimize the time those ramps are closed in order to help alleviate traffic flow
concerns within the City of Little Canada. MnDot shall also restore the disturbed areas in
a manner that will be aesthetically pleasing to motorist and the Little Canada community.
Said restoration plans shall require the input and approval of Little Canada.
We will review these items at our workshop commencing at 6:30 p.m. The Council should also
be prepared to modify these conditions as they deem appropriate. Staff will provide the formal
resolution at Wednesday's meeting for your consideration.
3
