To Joel Hanson
City of Little Canada
From: Mary Lou Egan
Ramsey County Community & Economic Development
15 West Kellogg Blvd.
St. Paul, MN 55102
651-266-8025 / FAX: 651-266-8039
Date: Apr i127, 2004
Re: Potential Home Replacement Improvement Program
You asked for resources available for such a program. I'll list some resources for
certain goals, then below that, give you more detailed information on each program.
Is it maintaining the existing stock? (Ramsey County programs, HRC)
Tear downs and replacement with mini-mansions? (You are on your own!)
Is it to encourage more families moving in? (Ramsey County FirstHOME, MCPP
mortages)
Is it to get seniors out of houses and freeing them up for families?
Senior Housing Regeneration Project, some CDBG possible.
Neighborhood revitalization ? - Some CDBG possible. There are specific definitions
and eligibility for these types of project, but I don't want to overload you with
information you aren't asking for at this point. Briefly, the area must be primarily
residential and contain a high number of low and moderate-income households.
