If you agree with my recommendation, we will have to continue to evaluate our options
for a new public works facility versus renovation of our existing space. I believe a new building
on a new site would be the preferred course of action.
My recommendation is not intended to impugn the objectives of Family Academy.
Rather, I believe it is the fairest outcome we can provide them versus the alternative of further
evaluation that could involve significant resource expenditures on the part of Family Academy.
Considerable effort and costs could be expended and the final result could still end in denial of
Family Academy's proposed project. This could occur if the City determines that it is an
unacceptable land use and /or Mr. Frattalone sells the property while the evaluation is underway.
Should the Council disagree with my recommendation, then I believe the next step is the
land use aspect of the Family Academy proposal to be studied by the Planning Commission,
4
