Hanson <br />As you are aware, the City recently adopted an updated version of the State Building Code. In doing <br />so, however, a portion of the Code was inadvertently omitted from the text of the ordinance. Section <br />301.040. B. should have read as follows (1 have underlined the section that was omitted): <br />B. Optional Provisions. The following chapters of Minnesota Rules are not a mandatory <br />part of the code, but are hereby adopted by reference by the City of Little Canada and are <br />incorporated into this ordinance as completely as if set out in full. <br />Minnesota Rules, Chapter 1306, Special Fire Protection Systems with Subpart <br />2 (existing and new buildings) with Option 1, Group R -1 and R -2 occupancies <br />with 8 500 or more gross square feet of floor area or dwelling units or <br />auestrooms on three or more floors; and attached R -3 occupancies and attached <br />townhouses built to the international Residential Code with 8,500 or more <br />Gross square feet of floor area. All floors, basements and garages are included <br />in this floor area threshold. <br />2. Minnesota Rules, Chapter 1335, Floodprooflng Regulations, parts 1335.0600 <br />to 1335.1200. <br />3. Appendix, Chapter K (Grading) of the 2002 Supplements to the 2000 <br />International Building Code. <br />Staff is requesting that the Council clarify their adoption of this ordinance to include the omitted <br />language as listed above. <br />
