Ti : s can impose a severe burden on engine parts. Regular exercising keeps engine parts lubricated, prevent: oxidation of electrical contacts and in general helps provide reliable engine starting. Exercise the gencratl r get at least once a week for a minimum of 30 minutes with load so the engine reaches normal operating :1:mperature." The above recommendation is for optimum performance of the generator a :.d transfer switch system. When these recommendations are reduced the reliability of the equipment reduced. Business or environmental reasons may call for reducing the exercise pent ds. When the customer makes this decision, they must accept the fact that the reliability of the equipment 'nay be reduced. We are aware of customers who run their generator sets at two times a month and have g 'od success. If faced with a situation where the generator set is not exercised as recomn tended, often times accelerated maintenance will help increase reliability. We fully support the factory recommendations but are trying to provide an alternative where exercising generator time may conflict with local ordinances.
