MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 25, 2012 <br />District Council's tax statement and explained that the impact to the City <br />of a 78% reduction in property taxes for District Council #82 is <br />approximately $11,500. The Administrator reported that he would <br />continue his discussions with District Council #82, and stated that this <br />matter may be on the next Council agenda for consideration. <br />NORTHEAST The City Administrator reported that he and the City Engineer as well as <br />REDEVELOP- Rusty Fifield met with the Sculley Family last week relative to their <br />MENT AREA interest in selling their property. The Sculley's have not yet determined <br />UPDATE an asking price for the property, and will get back to the City with that <br />price. The City Administrator reported that there are a lot of unknowns at <br />this time, and suggested that it may be more beneficial to create separate <br />TIF Districts in the Northeast Redevelopment Area, rather than combine <br />the area into one. The Administrator also reported that Gordie Howe is <br />working on the acquisition of two additional houses in this redevelopment <br />area. The Administrator reported that he will keep the Council updated as <br />new information is obtained. <br />BANNERS <br />The City Administrator suggested that given the issue of undergrounding <br />of electrical is undecided for the Little Canada Road Improvement, that he <br />order some replacement banners for use on the City's banner poles. The <br />issue of new banners and banner poles for County Road 3-2 east of Rice <br />Street, can then be revisited when key road improvement issues have been <br />resolved so we can be more accurate with the number needed. <br />LCRA It was the consensus of the Council that the City Administrator and <br />TEMPORARY Council Members Keis and Montour would meet with representatives of <br />LIQUOR the Little Canada Recreation Association to revisit the issue of alcohol <br />LICENSE FOR service at this year's Canadian Days Celebration <br />CANADIAN <br />DAYS <br />WATER The City Administrator presented a metered water report comparing the <br />METER amount of gallons of water billed for the first quarters of 2009 through <br />CHANGE- 2012. He noted an increase in billing from first quarter 2011 to first <br />OUTS quarter 2012 which is being attributed to the water meter change -out <br />program. The Administrator reported that the Public Works <br />Superintendent attributes much of the increase to the change out of larger <br />meters which were not registering during times of low flows. The <br />Administrator indicated that there are still 89 meters to be changed out to <br />complete the program. City staff will continue to monitor metered water <br />and will keep the Council updated. <br />8 <br />
