AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE <br />OF TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS AND EVP SYSTEM <br />AGREEMENT NO. PW 2003 -23 <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into by and between the County of Ramsey, <br />Department of Public Works, hereinafter referred to as the "County," and the City of Roseville herein <br />after referred to as "Roseville" and the City of Little Canada herein after referred to as "Little <br />Canada ", for the maintenance of a traffic control signal system with street lights, signs, interconnect <br />and emergency vehicle pre - emption at the intersection of Rice Street (CSAH 49) and Minnesota <br />Street; <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation has turned back TH 49 (Rice Street) <br />to Ramsey County between TH 694 North ramps - CSAH 16 (Vadnais Boulevard) and CSAH 34 <br />(University Avenue); and <br />WHEREAS, Rice Street between TH 694 and University Avenue is now designated as County <br />State Aid Highway 49; and <br />WHEREAS, the turn back requires new maintenance and operation agreements for the traffic <br />signals at several intersections: and <br />WHEREAS, the County and Cities will participate in the maintenance and operation of said <br />traffic control signals with street lights, signs, interconnect and EVP system as hereinafter set forth. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Upon execution and approval by the County, the City of Little Canada and the City of <br />Roseville this agreement shall supercede and terminate Agreement No. 69107 dated June 9, 1992 <br />between the County, the City of Roseville, the City of Little Canada, the City of Maplewood, the City <br />of Saint Paul and the Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br />2. Necessary electrical power for the operation of the signal system shall be at the cost and <br />expense of the Cities. The City of Little Canada shall receive the monthly electric bill and invoice the <br />City of Roseville 50 percent of the cost. <br />3. In accordance with the Policy for Lighting County Roadways, County Board Resolution 78- <br />1394, Roseville shall maintain and pay energy cost of the integral street light in the southwest corner <br />of the intersection and Little Canada shall maintain and pay energy costs of the integral street light in <br />the northeast corner of the intersection. <br />4. The County shall maintain and keep in repair all signs associated with the traffic signal at its <br />cost and expense. <br />AgrPW2003 -23 <br />Page <br />or <br />
