Hanson
I have made a couple of requests of Reg Plowman, RJ Marco, relative to his efforts to
market the Rice Street /Viking Drive site. Reg Plowman is waiting for information from
his broker and had not received that information as of this past Tuesday.
There is nothing to preclude the City from putting a sign up on the property and
marketing it. The property likely has the most value as a fast -food restaurant (a fast -food
restaurant serving hamburgers is precluded under our agreement with McDonald's). In
order to attract a development of a more upscale nature, it may be necessary to wait until
the right development proposal is made.
Staff will try to have an update on this matter for Wednesday's meeting.
