PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, The first Little Canada Canadian Days observance was held on August 12, <br />13 and 14, 1977; and <br />WHEREAS, The annual Canadian Days festival celebrates the sister -city relationship <br />between the City of Little Canada, Minnesota and the City of Thunder Bay, Ontario, <br />Canada; and <br />WHEREAS, The Canadian Days Committees meets monthly to <br />C. Plan for and provide the community of Little Canada, Minnesota with a summer <br />celebration; <br />C. Promote stronger ties of friendship and understanding between the residents of the <br />City of Little Canada, Minnesota and Thunder Bay, Ontario; and <br />C Make charitable contributions to youth - oriented activities and organizations of the <br />City of Little Canada, Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, The Canadian Days Committee demonstrates civic pride through <br />volunteering countless hours to bring the community together in a common celebratory <br />effort; and <br />WHEREAS, On behalf of the citizens of Little Canada, the Mayor and City Council wish <br />to express their profound gratitude to several members who are retiring after many years <br />of dedicated and outstanding service on the Canadian Days Committee; <br />NOW, THEREOFRE, BE IT RESOLVED that the citizens and Council of the City of <br />Little Canada hereby honor and recognize Beth Borland, Kathy Hanson, Don Smith, <br />Virginia Smith, Elaine Strantz, Betty Strohbeen, and Norm Strohbeen for establishing a <br />high standard of community service and setting a good example of civic pride for others <br />to follow. <br />Adopted this 28`1' day of July 2004. <br />Michael I.
