MINUTES <br />REQUEST FOR <br />ZONING USE <br />STUDY — <br />KENNEDY <br />ARMS CO. <br />lotWFWMINIAWIMM <br />MINUTES OF TTIE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, 'MINNESOTA <br />J[JLY 14, 2004 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 14thday of <br />July, 2004 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael 1. Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />Deputy Clerk <br />Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Mr. Matt Anderson <br />Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Mr. Tom Sweeney <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />Anderson corrected the June 23, 2004 minutes to reflect that the first <br />paragraph on page 7 should be changed to read "no good City use of the <br />property ". <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -7 -141 — APPROVING THE MINUTES OF <br />THE JUNE 23, 2004 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS <br />CORRECTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Anderson, Montour, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mayor Fahey noted that gun stores are not a permitted use under the City's <br />Codes, and Mr. Kurt Kennedy of Kennedy Arms Company desires to <br />operate a gun store in Little Canada. Mr. Kennedy has requested that the <br />City conduct a zoning use study to determine whether there is interest in <br />amending the E3-3 Zoning District to allow gun stores as a permitted use. <br />Kurt Kennedy, Kennedy Arms Company, indicated that guns would be a <br />small part of the business that would primarily consist of reloading and <br />ammunition sales. <br />
