MINUTES REQUEST FOR ZONING USE STUDY — KENNEDY ARMS CO. lotWFWMINIAWIMM MINUTES OF TTIE REGULAR MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, 'MINNESOTA J[JLY 14, 2004 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 14thday of July, 2004 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Michael 1. Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m and the following members of the City Council were present at roll call: CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Council Member Council Member Council Member Council Member ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator City Attorney Deputy Clerk Mr. Michael I. Fahey Mr. Matt Anderson Mr. Bill Blesener Mr. Jim LaValle Mr. Rick Montour Mr. Joel R. Hanson Mr. Tom Sweeney Ms. Kathy Glanzer Anderson corrected the June 23, 2004 minutes to reflect that the first paragraph on page 7 should be changed to read "no good City use of the property ". Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2004 -7 -141 — APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 23, 2004 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AS CORRECTED The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson. Ayes (5) Blesener, Anderson, Montour, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Mayor Fahey noted that gun stores are not a permitted use under the City's Codes, and Mr. Kurt Kennedy of Kennedy Arms Company desires to operate a gun store in Little Canada. Mr. Kennedy has requested that the City conduct a zoning use study to determine whether there is interest in amending the E3-3 Zoning District to allow gun stores as a permitted use. Kurt Kennedy, Kennedy Arms Company, indicated that guns would be a small part of the business that would primarily consist of reloading and ammunition sales.
