Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Manson
RE: Approve Quit Claim Deed for Property Acquisition from the Morri's for Hamel
Court /Twin Lake Blvd. Watermain Loop
The City has been discussing the acquisition of an easement with the Morri's at 174 Twin Lake Blvd.
relative to the looping of watermain for Hamel Court and Twin Lake Blvd. The Morri's did not want
to end up with an unusable parcel, therefore, have requested that the City acquire this piece of
property for $500 (see solid shaded in portion on diagram attached).
The acquisition of this property allows the City to provide a key watermain loop and eliminates a
dead end on the Twin Lake area watermain. Staff feels that the Morri's request that the City purchase
the property rather than obtain an easement is reasonable. It should be noted that there would be no
cost to the Hamel Court developer relative to this additional loop as it was not included in their
original program.
Staff would recommend approval of the Quit Claim Deed and payment of $500 subject to review and
approval by the City Attorney.
