MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 3, 2012 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held <br />on the 3rd day of May, 2012, in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />ABSENT: Mr. Dan Slain <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the April 5, 2012 <br />meeting. <br />PROPERTY The City Clerk reported that one of the 2012 Goals relates to a review <br />ADJACENT of spot -zoned properties to determine whether or not there are <br />TO SW redevelopment options for these sites. One of the properties that the <br />CORNER OF Council has discussed is the site at the southwest corner of Pioneer Park. <br />PIONEER The Council has asked if there is any interest on the part of the Parks & <br />PARK Recreation Commission acquiring this parcel to "square off" Pioneer <br />Park. <br />Sanders felt adding the parcel to Pioneer Park would be a good idea if and <br />when the parcel becomes available. He noted that the addition of this land <br />to the park would give the City a little more flexibility should there be the <br />need to add tennis or basketball courts or parking. He also indicated that <br />adding the parcel to the park would be an aesthetic improvement for the <br />area. The Parks & Rec Director agreed. He noted that when the City first <br />purchased the land for Pioneer Park, the City wanted to acquire this parcel <br />as well. It was owned by Dave Frattalone at the time, and Mr. Frattalone <br />
