MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA MAY 3, 2012 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 3rd day of May, 2012, in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the commission were present: MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair Mr. Jeff Heikke Ms. Katie Lolmaugh Mr. Tom Maida Mr. Kevin Steinert Ms. Patti Sullivan ABSENT: Mr. Dan Slain ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the April 5, 2012 meeting. PROPERTY The City Clerk reported that one of the 2012 Goals relates to a review ADJACENT of spot -zoned properties to determine whether or not there are TO SW redevelopment options for these sites. One of the properties that the CORNER OF Council has discussed is the site at the southwest corner of Pioneer Park. PIONEER The Council has asked if there is any interest on the part of the Parks & PARK Recreation Commission acquiring this parcel to "square off" Pioneer Park. Sanders felt adding the parcel to Pioneer Park would be a good idea if and when the parcel becomes available. He noted that the addition of this land to the park would give the City a little more flexibility should there be the need to add tennis or basketball courts or parking. He also indicated that adding the parcel to the park would be an aesthetic improvement for the area. The Parks & Rec Director agreed. He noted that when the City first purchased the land for Pioneer Park, the City wanted to acquire this parcel as well. It was owned by Dave Frattalone at the time, and Mr. Frattalone
