The regulations currently permit an applicant to add a second
garage by CUP, and also construct an accessory shed on the property of 120 square
feet or less. One of the reasons for permitting the additional garage space is to ensure
that single family properties are not cluttered with miscellaneous recreational
equipment, vehicles, or tools.
There has been a suggestion that in granting a permit for a second, or oversized,
garage, that the property owner would forego the ability to have an additional shed
structure on the property. Under this regulations, it would be presumed that the
applicant would be able to construct a garage of adequate size, and not require the
shed for additional storage. If appropriate, staff will forward a recommendation to the
City Council on this item.
Pc: Kathy Glanzer
Steve Westerhaus
Lee Elfering
Greg Schroeder
