Summary and Recommendation
Planning staff believes that the improvements to the property (primarily fencing,
landscaping, and bringing the storage area into conformance would be consistent with
the intent of the Industrial Park zoning and the original Conditional Use Permit.
However, it is questionable that the wood - burning heat source — if requested prior to its
installation — would have been approved. Moreover, the City has experience with
problems that can not be eliminated by modifications to the facility. As such, planning
staff would not recommend approval of the heat source portion of the CUP amendment.
If the City believes that the CUP may be appropriate, planning staff would recommend a
nine -month permit only in order to allow time for continued monitoring over the next
heating season.
Pc: Kathy Glanzer
Steve Westerhaus
Lee Elfering
Greg Schroeder
Precision Tree, 50 South Owasso Blvd., Little Canada, 55117
