515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048
WWW.ci.littte- canada.inn.us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey and 'Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R..Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: November 18, 2004
RE: LMCTT Liability Coverage— Waiver Form
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
13111 Blesener
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
The Council must decide if it wishes to continue to not waive the City's statutory tort
limits for liability coverage. By not waiving our statutory tort limits, we are telling the
League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust that any claims where statutory limits of
liability apply will be governed by those limits, i.e. $300,000 per person and $1 million
per occurrence. 111 cases where the statutory limits do not apply, we have $7 million of'
liability coverage.
Staff would recommend continuing our practice of not waiving our statutory tort limits.
1
