Wer
MAYOR
Michael I. Fahey
COUNCIL
Jim LaValle
Matt Anderson
Rick Montour
Bill Blesener
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600 ADMINISTRATOR
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048 Joel R. Hanson
www, ci.little- canada. mn. us
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Fahey & Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: September 17, 2004
RE: Engineering Services with Howard R. Green Company
As we complete the transition from Howard R. Green Co to Elfering & Associates, it appears
it makes sense to retain HRG to do the survey staking for the work in progress. While Mr.
Elfering will be retaining surveyors for our future projects, HRG can most efficiently finish
the work in progress due to the benchmarks they have established. Therefore, I am
recommending we approve the attached work order for Twin Lake Road,
As the transition plan indicated, we are also using HRG to complete the infiltration /inflow
analysis work we had in progress. We will be preparing a work order for this work as well.
However, we need to resolve some concerns relative to the proposed billing rate for some of
the people involved on this project.
Lastly, HRG would like us to execute the attached Schedule of Conditions relative to their on-
going services. However, I feel this document is too one -sided and needs substantial
revisions before I would recommend it for execution,
cc: Brian Johnson, HRG
1
