CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
PIPELINE SETBACK POLICY
The City of Little Canada hereby establishes a policy requiring a 50 -foot setback from the edge of
pipeline easements prohibiting the construction of buildings or structures within this 50 -foot
easement area.
The definition of a pipeline is as follows:
A pipe with a nominal diameter of six inches or more that is used to transport hazardous
liquids. It is to be understood that this definition is not to apply to sanitary sewer lines.
This policy is hereby applied as follows:
Plats of More than Three Lots
The 50 -foot pipeline setback policy is applicable to all plats consisting of more than three lots.
Subdivisions of Three Lots or Less
The 50 -foot pipeline setback policy applies to subdivisions of three lots or less, including lot splits,
when application of the policy does not prevent a property owner from subdividing property in a
manner that would have been allowed prior to the adoption of this policy and in a manner that is
consistent with the City's current ordinances.
Developed Lots of Record
The 50 -foot pipeline setback policy does not apply to existing, developed, lots of record. If there is
the need to re- establish a structure on an existing, developed lot of record, it should be noted that all
Municipal Code, Subdivision Code, and Zoning Code requirements remain applicable.
