Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaVatle
Malt Anderson
Rick Montour
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Attached is information relative to a request by Kathy Smith to purchase property along Noel .Drive
that is owned by the City. In considering this request, the City Council referred the matter to both the
Parks & Recreation Commission as well as the Planning Commission for a recommendation. The
Council also asked that City statfidentify whether or not potential City uses of this property exist.
Below is the list that was developed:
*Future park uses given the proximity to Gervais Mill Park;
*Future City Center /Historical Society expansion location;
*Potential for some road and culvert realignment at the time Noel Drive is reconstructed;
*Snow storage (current practice);
*Buffer between commercial use and residential neighborhood (currently exists).
It should also be noted that the City believes that this is property has been filled and that the till
material used contained concrete and blacktop (recollection from former employee). This belief is
also supported by the fact that soil corrections were needed as part of the construction of the storage
building currently being constructed at Norm's Tires. Approximately 8 feet of styrofoam was placed
under this building as an alternative to the installation of pylings.
cc: Kathy Smith
Planning Commission
