MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 16, 2008
Tracey George asked who streets without curb and gutter are not planned
for reconstruction prior to Thunder Bay Road. The City Engineer noted
that road reconstruction plans are based on the pavement rating system,
with the worst streets being reconstructed first. The City Administrator
indicated that it is not a good investment of taxpayer dollars to reconstruct
streets that still have a usable life.
There was no one else present wishing to comment on This matter.
Upon motion by Allan, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was
closed.
Mr. Montour inrioduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTIONNO. 2008-I-18 -REJECTING PROPOSED
IMPROVEMENT NO.2008-04 FOR THUNDER BAY ROAD BY
RECONSTRUCTED ROAD SURFACT, CONCRETE CURB AND
GUTTER, AND DRAINAGE ENHANCEMENTS
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
CONDIT The City Administrator indicated that given that the Condit Street
STREET improvement will not proceed in 2008, staff will put together some
options for the Council to consider to address the significantly deteriorated
northern portion of the road. The Engineer indicated that some temporary
measures will need to be taken on this portion of the street in order to
prevent complete pavement loss. A recommendation will be brought back
to the Council for their review.
ADJOURN Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2008-I-19 -ADJOURNING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
14
