Hanson During the coarse of the Little Canada Road street and amenity project Mr. Strom (the owner of the Thunder Bay Plaza and Round Lake Mall) expressed concern that there was significant "cut - through" traffic using his parking lot and that some construction equipment was also operated on and from his parking lot. Although no detour ever directed traffic onto his parking lot, it did see higher volumes of traffic during the Little Canada Road reconstruction project. We discussed this with Mr. Strom in the field, and negotiated to reimburse his company for seal coating of the front half of the front parking lot along Little Canada Road. In addition, during construction of the Little Canada Road /Market Place Drive Intersection, we damaged Mr. Strom's existing irrigation system that is located at the northeast comer of this intersection. We negotiated with Mr. Strom, to reimburse him for the repair of the damaged irrigation system, once repairs have been completed. The seal coating of his parking lot and the repair of the irrigation system will be handled through Mr. Strom with the contractor of his choice. City staff will review the work done and verify the invoice amounts prior to payment. The very rough estimated not to exceed cost for this work is $8,600 ($4,600 for seal coating and $4,000 for irrigation system). I recommend Council approval of the negotiated settlements to Mr. Strom's parking lot and irrigation system at a cost not to exceed $8,600. I-1:ACregSVI tie Canada Road ProjectAAVade 5 trom letter.doc
