MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JULY 11, 2002
Trossen pointed out the City Engineer's continent relative to the fact that
parking stalls are shown at 1$ feet in length while the City's ordinance
requires 20 feet. The City Planner and Trossen discussed the ordinance
requirements with regard to drive isle and parking stall widths as well as
turning radius The Planner indicated that this property is zoned PUD,
therefore, there is the opportunity for some flexibility with regard to
parking stall length. The City Planner suggested that he discuss this issue
with Steve Grittman, and will be prepared to respond to the property
owner prior to the City Council meeting.
Mr. Keis recommended approval of the Preliminary and Final Plat for
Tacheny Addition subject to compliance with the recommendations of the
City Planner as outlined in his report dated April 9, 2002, subject to
compliance with the recommendations of the City Engineer, instructing
the applicant to work with the City Planner on the issue of parking stall
length and to verify with the City Engineer the width of the sidewalk
easement along Rice Street.
Motion seconded by Knudsen.
Motion carried 6 -- 0.
ARCIIITEC- Duane Stroman, Stroman Construction, presented the plans for an addition
TURAL to the Poolside facility at 121 Fast County Road C. Stroman reported that
REVIEW — the building plans meet all City Code requirements.
POOLSIDE
Keis noted the issues raised relative to access to Jackson Street. Stroman
indicated they were requesting two accesses to Jackson Street to aid in the
circulation in and out of the site. He noted the plan calls for one -way
traffic through the parking lot. Without the second access a turn - around
area will have to be provided. However, if the second access is an issue,
Stroman reported that it could be eliminated.
Knudsen pointed out the recommendation of the Planner for the addition
of cornice treatments along the roof-line. Stroman indicated that they
could look at adding cornice treatments.
Keis explained the purpose of the architectural review and the City's
desire to make development in the commercial areas aesthetically
pleasing.
Stroman indicated that Poolside was willing to comply with the
recommendations raised by the City Planner.
